About us
Forkful is a food psychology magazine exploring the connection between food, the mind, and the body. In a world saturated with contradictory headlines and ridiculous online food trends, we offer something different by being the first digital food psychology magazine to offer clarity rooted in science and not scare tactics. ‘Why does scientific research say that expensive red wine tastes better, even though it isn’t?’ ‘Why do we crave particular foods when we are stressed?’ Or ‘Are we eating nutrients, or narratives?’ We answer the questions that matter without the nonsense. Unlike traditional food media, we are not here to tell you what to eat. We believe food is there to be enjoyed and is not something to feel guilty about. Our mission is to serve up unbiased, unfiltered information that allows readers to make informed choices without fear or pressure. By focusing on psychology, neuroscience and behaviour, Forkful exists to shift the focus away from all the rules around food, and more towards understanding. Through in-depth interviews, simplified science and stories about the food we love, we aim to uncover the psychology, neuroscience and emotion behind every bite. Say goodbye to diet culture, scaremongering and scientific jargon because we’re here to make sense of it with you. It’s our job to cut to the core of what matters to you and quite frankly, get to the point.
